Prime shopping center and high street retail rent in Milan 2016-2021
In Milan, the annual square meter rent of high street retail space was about five times higher than the average rent in a shopping center. As of the third quarter of 2021, the rental rate of a high street shop was 3,850 euros per square meter per year, while shopping center rent cost 810 euros per square meter per year. In 2021, retail rents in Milan fell for a second year in a row. This was likely due to the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on football, consumer spending, and international travel.
