European countries construction cost index for residential buildings 2020
In 2020, the construction cost for new residential buildings across European increased in most countries compared to the index year of 2015. The EU-27 average construction cost increased by 9.3 percent. Construction costs in Turkey more than doubled while Hungary saw an increase of almost 40 percent. Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands saw residential construction costs rise by around 12 percent. Only in Greece and Montenegro did the costs for residential construction decline.
