Perception of government & organized crime as hostile to journalists in Mexico 2021
During a survey conducted in Mexico at the end of August 2021, respondents were asked if the government or organized crime were the main threats for journalists not to report certain information. Almost 60 percent of the interviewees said organized crime was the main source of pressure against journalistic work. Around 30 percent stated that it was the government. In 2021, Mexico was the Latin American country where most journalists were killed.
