Gas power generation in Europe amounted to over 1.2 petawatt hours in 2021, an increase from two percent from the previous year. In the period of consideration, figures decreased by 321 terawatt hours, and peaked at 1.3 petawatt hours in 2008. In 2021, Europe ranked third globally, based on gas power generation by region.
