Change in Russian pipeline gas exports to the EU 2021-2025
Russia's exports of gas via pipelines to European Union (EU) countries were forecast to decline by 55 percent between 2021 and 2025, according to the base scenario, which entails measures from the EU like substituting Russian gas with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and pipeline gas supplies from other countries and decreasing gas demand. Furthermore, under the accelerated scenario, which assumes a further reduction of gas demand and an increase in domestic production of low-carbon gases, the exports could fall by 75 percent.
