Consumption change due to a potential Russian gas shutoff in Europe 2022, by country
In case of a theoretical shutoff of Russian pipeline gas exports to Europe, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary would experience a shortfall of 40 percent of their annual gas consumption, according to estimates from 2022. Across Europe on average, a potential shortfall would amount to seven percent of the total consumption.
