Verizon's wireless retail churn rate 2008-2021

In 2021, Verizon’s wireless retail churn rate stood at 1.1 percent. The churn rate refers to average percentage of customers who terminate their monthly subscription to a company’s services.

Wireless provider churn rates

The churn rate of Verizon’s retail connections (which includes postpaid and prepaid connections) has been relatively stable over the past few years, consistently remaining under 1.5 percent. Compared to other major telecommunication operators in the United States, such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile US, Verizon has the lowest churn rate, with AT&T ranking a close second.

Verizon Communications’ wireless retail postpaid ARPA (average revenue per account) stood at about 134.49 U.S. dollars in 2018. The company’s postpaid ARPA has been declining since 2014. Verizon’s wireless segment is still the company’s largest however, accounting for over two thirds of the global revenue in the past few years. This large wireless segment, also known as Verizon Wireless, has had the highest number of subscribers out of all the wireless carriers in the United States since 2013.
