In 2019, pay TV revenues in Africa reached 5.48 billion U.S. dollars. Earlier estimates suggested that revenue between 2018 and 2024 would grow by 42 percent and could reach 7.72 billion in 2024, but in 2019 a slightly more modest prediction of 7.2 billion was made. If this comes to pass, revenue growth between 2019 and 2025 would be just over 30 percent, indicating that subscribers are paying less for their pay TV service than in previous years, resulting in lower ARPU for providers.
