The figures are seasonally adjusted estimates, measured using the Retail Sales Index (RSI) and published in index form with a reference year of 2016 equal to 100. Aside from some fluctuation, the value of retail sales has generally risen over this period of time, reaching an indexed value of 114.8 in September 2019.
