OPEC - share of global crude oil reserves 2009-2018 This statistic depicts OPEC's share of global crude oil reserves from 2009 to 2018. In 2015, the OPEC countries owned nearly 82 percent of the total crude oil reserves worldwide. This percentage remained relatively stable, with slight changes until 2018. In 2018, the average annual OPEC crude oil price was some 69.78 U.S. dollars per barrel, while in 2014 the price was around 96.29 U.S. dollars per barrel.
