This statistic displays a percent distribution of U.S. users of long-term care services by provider type and by age group in 2015 and 2016. In the United States, persons aged 85 years and older accounted for around 25 percent of people being cared for by home health agency services. Long-term care services account for a variety of services such as health, personal care, and supportive services dedicated to frail older people and adults with a limited capacity for self-care in cases such as injury or mental disability.
