Penetration of audiobook consumption in U.S. 2011-2019
The share of U.S. adults who reported listening to an audiobook in the last year months in the United States as of early 2019 was the highest on record at 20 percent, up two percent from 2018 and close to double the 2011 figure. However, e-books and print books continue to appeal more to American readers, though adults aged 30 to 49 years old were more likely to have listened to an audiobook than respondents in any other age group.
