This statistic depicts the volume of Italian imports of hard cheese (not PDO) between 2008 and 2019. Over the period of consideration, there were sizeable fluctuations in the amount of hard cheese of non protected designation of origin imported to Italy, with an all-time low as of 2009 (around 14.4 thousand tons) and a peak as of 2012 (around 27.4 thousand tons). Between January and October 2019, almost 23 thousand tons of hard cheese were imported to Italy.
