Residential loans for house purchase (gross advances) in the UK 2015-2018, by scheme This statistic illustrates a breakdown of gross advances on residential loans for house purchase issued to individuals in the United Kingdom (UK) from the first quarter of 2015 to the fourth quarter of 2018. It can be seen that the share of gross advances to first-time buyers increased slightly with fluctuation during this period, reaching a share of 21.36 percent as of the second quarter of 2018. This was an increase of over 2.4 percent in comparison to the first quarter of 2015. Although this was the case, the share of gross advances for other loans remained the largest during the period under observation, reaching a maximum of 33.93 percent in the third quarter of 2015.
