Reasons for not buying a residential property in the United Kingdom 2017-2020

According to a survey conducted among 2,000 adults in the United Kingdom (UK), as of September 2020, two in three people saw the lack of job security as the most likely barrier to buying a home. This was not the case just half a year ago (March 2020), prior to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic lockdown, when roughly one third of people considered job security an issue. During the whole period, three other concerns were leading - raising a deposit, access to mortgage and affordability of mortgage payments.
