Monthly spending of Italian outbound tourists 2019-2023
In May 2023 the expenditure of Italian outbound travelers grew by 25 percent compared to the previous year, also surpassing the figure reported in May 2019, prior to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That month, spending by outbound tourists from Italy amounted to roughly 2.4 billion euros, increasing from 1.9 billion euros in May 2022.
