Finland: production volume of organic crops by type 2021

In 2021, the production volume of organic crops in Finland decreased overall. The production volume of organic oats peaked at around 83 million kilograms in 2020, increasing 7.1million kilograms from the previous year. Furthermore, the production volumes of organic mixed crops, and barley decreased notably. Meanwhile, the production of potatoes and buckwheat decreased slightly.

In Finland, cold winters limit crop production potential, but decrease the need for pesticides. Due to rainfall during summer months, irrigation is only needed occasionally.
