This statistic displays the share of organic egg production in Finland from 2014 to 2018. The share of organic eggs increased annually during the period under survey, accounting for 6.7 percent of total egg production in 2018.
In the European Union (EU), to identify and trace egg production, a unique code must be printed on all eggs. Organic eggs are market with a “0” code. According to the EU organic standards, the flock size is set at 3,000 egg-laying hens. Poultry is fed with GMO-free feed and the use of antibiotics is more carefully regulated than with non-organic production.
