Share of adults with hypertension in Brazil 2023

The share of adults who claimed to have been diagnosed with arterial hypertension by a doctor in Brazil amounted to approximately 28 percent in 2023, the highest value reported during the analyzed period. This represents an increase compared to 2012, when the percentage of Brazilian respondents diagnosed with high blood pressure reached around 24.3 percent. Moreover, hypertension was more prevalent among women than men in the South American country.
