Non-book readers in the U.S. 2018-2019, by ethnicity

The share of Black (non-Hispanic) adults who have not read a book in the last 12 months in the United States increased from 24 percent in 2018 to 33 percent in 2019, and also grew by two percent for Hispanic and White survey respondents. Book readership in the U.S. appears to be dropping year on year, particularly among individuals who did not attend college and families on a lower income.
