The median venture capital (VC) deal size for all series increased between 2010 and 2017 with some fluctuation. As can be seen from this statistic venture capital investors are were far more willing to invest more in companies that were nearing initial public offering (IPO) stage than those that were still in seed stage. As of the end of March 2018 the median deal size in Europe at the seed stage was 1.1 million U.S dollars as to series D and above had a median deal size of 40 million U.S dollars.
