Apple were ranked the most preferred brand for hearable devices among survey respondents in the United States, topping the list ahead of more established audio equipment manufacturers such as BOSE, Beats, and Sennheiser. Sony and Samsung ranked second and third respectively.

Home comforts: Apple popular among American users

Apple, an American company with its headquarters in California, has developed the most valuable brand in the United States worth around 316 billion U.S. dollars. Not only do the company rank highest for hearable devices, they also top lists for most popular smartphone brand and tablet ownership. Many American consumers are loyal to the Apple brand and enjoy the unified experience of Apple products working best together; consumers rarely leave when they become part of this exclusive Apple ecosystem.

Hearables are here to stay

The market for hearable devices is moving very quickly with shipments of ear-worn devices forecast to replace smartwatches as the leading sector in the overall wearables market by 2022. Wireless devices including Apple AirPods, Sony Xperia Ear Duo, and Samsung Galaxy Buds are all aiming to make small tasks much easier by providing information directly into the ear, rather than having to view on a screen using a smartphone or a smartwatch. A survey conducted in 2017 found that the Apple AirPods ranked very highly for user satisfaction in a number of categories.
