In the latest survey by Hurun Report of high net worth individuals (HNWI) from China, the most popular emigration destination was revealed to be the United States. Of those surveyed - all of which had either already emigrated or were applying/planning to do - 9 percent rated the U.S. as the most desirable country, followed by Canada with 8.7 percent and the U.K. with 8.4 percent.
Respondents were asked to answer according to eight criteria - education, investment destination preferences, immigration policy, property purchasing, tax, medical care, visa-free travel, and ease of adaptability.
