2013年十月, 国家主席习近平在出访中亚和东南亚国家期间首次提出“一带一路” 倡议。 “一带“主要有两个走向,从中国出发,以欧洲为终点:一是经中亚、俄罗斯到达欧洲;二是经中亚、西亚到达波斯湾和地中海沿岸各国。 “一路”主要有两个走向:一是从中国沿海港口过南海到印度洋,延伸至欧洲。二是从中国沿海港口过南海到南太平洋。新丝绸之路涵盖65个核心国家,其中发展中国家居多,覆盖面积约5539km2,约占全球总面积的41.3%。
2015年,我国企业共对“一带一路”相关的49个国家进行了直接投资。截止到2016年12月,中国企业已在20个国家建成56个经贸合作区,总投资额高达185亿美元。在政府的支持下,“一带一路”倡议大幅促进了海外并购交易量, 尤其是在“一带一路”沿线国家和地区。在行业方面,石油及天然气是中国在新丝绸之路各参与国并购交易最主要的行业,总交易额在过去的十二年中超过380亿美元。接下来是工业产品和金融服务业,交易额分别达到140亿美元以上。
