? Well, not quite! Advertising via the postal system is still going strong. In the United States alone, some 8 million metric tons of advertising mail are still sent via the post.
According to figures by the Universal Postal Union UPU and digital mail provider Caya
, this comes down to some 64 kilos (141 pounds) of advertising mail per household a year. While the U.S. has the highest overall yield in terms of weight, the Swiss have a higher share per household, counting a grand total of 80 kilos (176 pounds) per year.
