Sometimes direct mail advertising can be sent to pre-selected individuals, or it can be sent out to a whole neighborhood.
B2C advertising in the mail order market was predominantly taken up by the direct mail industry in 2012, where 73.5 percent of items sent out felll under this category.
When looking on a global level, there was a sharp increase in the total amount spent on all types of advertising since 2014, with new sources such as mobile and internet connected devices being used to promote products.
