America was embroiled in controversy last week amid spurious claims that Joe Biden's climate plans involve Americans drastically reducing their meat consumption. Given the extent to which people came out in defense of their burgers along with the emergence of plant-based meat substitutes, what nutritional rules do Americans follow today?
Data from Statista's Global Consumer Survey shows that 64 percent of U.S. adults do not follow any special nutritional rules. The largest one that is followed, though, is low-carb/no carb with 17 percent of Statista's respondents following that path. Four percent of people say they are vegetarians while just two percent of respondents say they are vegan.
