Back in 2013, mobile voice assistance was still in its infancy with 3 out of every 10 Americans using it. Since then however, voice assistance has experienced a meteoric rise with 65 percent of U.S. smartphone owners using it annually in 2015. Why do people use voice assistance? According to a report from KPCB, 61 percent use it as they find it useful when their hands or vision is occupied. 30 percent say it brings faster results and 24 percent use it due to difficulties typing on certain devices.
This chart shows U.S. smartphone owners using voice assistance and reasons for use.
