Trust in Companies to Protect Personal Data
Data Security
There have been a lot of high-profile data breaches in recent years. Yahoo alone is responsible for hundreds of millions of pieces of personal information falling into the wrong hands. While the chances are never zero, a recent survey by Morning Consult shows that users are much more trusting of some companies than they are others.
At the top of the list was Amazon, with a respectable 69 percent of respondents saying they trust the company with their private data. Less encouraging is the assessment of Jack Dorsey's Twitter. A mere 34 percent feel their personal details are in safe hands with the social networking service.
