The number of Facebook users in Russia followed an upward trend until 2022. In January 2023, the figure was below 71 million, having decreased from 72.6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. In mid-March 2022, Facebook was blocked in Russia after Meta was claimed an extremist organization in the country.
