Perceived spending share India 2016 by financial ability
In 2016, half of the population in India had enough money to live comfortably and were able to spend based on what they wanted, whereas 14 percent of the population only had money for food, shelter and basic needs. Though this perceived financial ability had improved over the years, the spending power was not directly affected by it. Additionally, 86 percent of the people were able to either spend freely or spend on things that they wanted across India, compared to 60 percent of the global population's similar spending ability.
