Cinema attendance in Guatemala 2015-2021
Throughout 2021, movie theaters in Guatemala sold around 2.3 million tickets, up from 900 thousand a year earlier – an increase of over 150 percent. Despite the annual growth, the 2021 figure amounted to less than one-third of the 7.2-million attendance recorded in 2019 before the pandemic. Guatemala had the third-highest box office gross in Central America in 2021.
