Cinema attendance in Nicaragua 2015-2021
In 2021, cinema attendance in Nicaragua reached 700 thousand, up from 300 thousand a year earlier – a growth of over 130 percent. Despite the annual increase, the 2021 figure amounted to little more than 40 percent of the 1.7 million movie tickets sold in 2019, before the pandemic. Nicaragua had the lowest box office revenue in Central America in 2021.
