Cinema attendance in the Dominican Republic 2017-2021
In 2021, movie theaters across the Dominican Republic sold approximately 1.5 million tickets, three times more than a year earlier. Despite the annual increase, the 2021 figure amounted to less than one-third of the 4.6-million attendance recorded in 2019, before the pandemic. For comparison, five other Central American countries had higher cinema attendance than the Dominican Republic in 2021.
