When to put up the Christmas tree in Italy 2019

During a 2019 survey, almost half of the Italian respondents set up their Christmas tree on December 8. According to the Roman Catholic Church, the 8th of December is a holiday. Traditionally, Italian people set up the Christmas tree on this day. However, the second largest group of respondents (17.5 percent) was going to put up the Christmas tree after the 8th of December Italians mostly preferred artificial trees for Christmas. In a survey conducted in 2017, about one in five respondents chose natural trees.
