Penetration rate of foreign investors in vineyards in France 2015

Foreign owners in French vineyards remained exceptions in 2015. Foreign ownership is highest in the vineyards of Bordeaux and Provence, where the proportion of foreign owners is around 5 percent. This rate does not exceed 1.5 percent in other vineyards in France.

The study covers more than 600,000 hectares of the 750,000 hectares of French vineyards, approximately 80% of the total area. Some vineyards were excluded from the scope of the study. These are Champagne, Cognac and Armagnac and micro-vineyards.
