YoY change sales of dry foods due to COVID-19 in Daegu South Korea February 2020
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the beginning of 2020 in South Korea, retailers suffer from reduced traffic and sales. Nevertheless, certain kinds of foods, especially those considered "emergency food", show a sales growth. Hypermarket retail chain E-Mart reported that rice was sold 123 percent more often than in the previous year at its stores in Daegu, the epicentre of the virus in South Korea.
