Impact of coronavirus on sales value of cleaning and hygiene products in Italy 2020

During the first week of March 2020, the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) had a massive impact on the sales of hygiene and cleaning products. More specifically, the selling of wet wipes grew by 216 percent compared to the same week of 2019. Similarly, the sales value of undenatured ethyl alcohol and bleach disinfectants rose by 102 percent. The hygiene product registering the largest increase was hand soap, whose sales value grew by 64 percent.
