
Real GDP growth in East Africa 2020-2023
East Africa's economy growth might rebound to 4.1 percent in 2021, according to estimates done in September that year. For 2020, the real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the region was estimated to expand by only 0.4 percent, weakened due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Projections indicated that, by 2023, the GDP growth might reach 5.6 percent.
