Due to the coronavirus outbreak in 2020, many Americans have been forced to work from home. In some cases they work from home despite being in an industry that was said to be unsuitable for telework before the global pandemic. Within metropolitan areas of the United States with populations of 2.5 to five million, around three percent of workers began working from home despite being considered as unable to telework.
