Japan: number of NHK broadcasting subscribers 2021

The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) counted approximately 44.61 million broadcasting subscribers in Japan in 2021. The number, which includes terrestrial, satellite, and special contract subscribers, slightly decreased compared to the previous year. NHK was founded in 1926 and re-established as a public broadcaster following a new broadcast law in 1950.
