The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit the museum industry hard. With many organizations having to close to the public due to lockdowns and strict safety regulations put in place to contain the health emergency. According to a May 2020 study focusing on the COVID-19 impact on museums in the United Kingdom (UK), about a third of surveyed museum professionals believed that the pandemic heavily impacted Front of House (FOH) resources. Meanwhile, 26 percent of respondents claimed that the crisis strongly affected investment in digital infrastructure.
