
Car purchasing intention in the U.S. by vehicle type and household income 2021
According to results from a 2021 survey, an household's annual gross income influenced U.S. consumers' intention to purchase a hybrid or electric vehicle. Over half of respondents self-reporting as from an upper class household intended on purchasing a new energy vehicle. This share dropped to under half for middle class respondents, and under 40 percent for underprivileged participants.
