Cinema screens open in Russia 2020-2022
As of May 2022, about 5.3 thousand cinema screens were open in Russia, down from over 5.7 thousand in January 2022. In April and May 2020, all movie theaters in the country were closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions imposed by the government.
