A survey during the third quarter of 2021 found that WhatsApp was ranked first among the most popular social networks in the Netherlands. Over 88 percent of Dutch online users stated that they had accessed the messenger in the past month. Overall, Facebook and Instagram ranked second and third, with 71.5 percent and 58.9 percent, respectively. In addition, 6.7 percent of internet users in the Netherlands used social media app, Nextdoor.
