PayPay: quarterly number of payments 2022

In the second quarter of fiscal year 2022, close to 1.27 billion transactions were conducted via the mobile payment platform PayPay. This represented an increase of 45.1 percent compared to the second quarter of fiscal year 2021.
PayPay is operated by Yahoo Japan and SoftBank Group through their holding company Z Holdings. The service enables users to connect their bank account to a smartphone app and perform financial transactions by scanning a QR code or bar code.
