HSBC Holdings had the highest risk-weighted assets (RWA) of the five largest banks in the United Kingdom as of 2022, with more than 694 billion British pounds. HSBC was followed by Barclays and Standard Chartered. Risk-weighted assets are used to calculate the minimum amount of capital that must be held by a bank to reduce the risk of insolvency.
