
Countries with largest LNG export capacity in Africa 2021
Operational terminals for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Africa had a combined capacity of 75 million metric tons per year. Algeria presented the largest annual liquefied natural gas export capacity in the continent, some 29.3 million metric tons. Nigeria followed with the capacity to export 22.2 million metric tons of LNG per year. The export capacity in the West African country is expected to grow to nearly 30 million metric tons annually, considering projects currently in proposal stage.
