The Middle East houses the greatest proved reserves of natural gas in the world. As of 2023, nearly 40 percent of all natural gas reserves were located in the Middle East. Worldwide reserves of natural gas reached over 206 trillion cubic meters that same year, having increased ten-fold since the 1960s.
