Natural gas production in Africa amounted to 249 billion cubic meters in 2022, down from some 259 billion cubic meters in the previous year. Between 1998 and 2022, production of natural gas in the African continent increased by nearly 138 billion cubic meters, reaching a production peak in 2021.
